This past Saturday, on 10/25/25, the Stevens Bowling Team competed in the Monmouth Hawk Open at Strathmore Lanes in Aberdeen Township, NJ. This tournament consisted of 25 individual games. The oil pattern used was a medium-length pattern, and paired with the low-friction lanes at this alley, the team had to be very accurate with their shots to score well. We brought three teams to this tournament: Varsity, JV1, and JV2. JV2, still consisting of first years, fought well with high games of 178 by Michael Santos, 171 by Lukas Lawrence, and 167 by Steven Perkins. Despite the harsh conditions, JV2 placed 4th overall in the JV division. JV1 also bowled strongly with high games of 197 by Luna Cusick, 189 by Victoria Aldridge, and 177 by Colin Smith. With their strong effort, JV1 was able to place 2nd overall in the JV division. Varsity played very well having notable games of 245 by CJ Folgore, 219 by Mauro Derosa, and 206 by Evan Chin. With their skillful bowling, not only did Varsity place 3rd in the Varsity division, but also CJ Folgore placed 3rd individually having an average score of 216! Everyone did very well and we hope that we can carry this momentum to the Shadow Hawk Challenge, the tournament that will be held the next day.
