Bowling Information

About:

The Steven Bowling Team, founded in 2003, is a club sport that competes in tournaments certified by the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) against teams in bowling alleys throughout the Tri-State Area. We welcome players of all skill levels with open arms. Anyone interested, whether they are undergraduate or graduate students, are encouraged to contact us.

Frequently Asked Questions:

When does the season start?
Our season begins with practices starting after the first two weeks of each September and continuing through the end of February, with five weeks off during the winter break.

How often does the team practice?
The team practices in the Stevens bowling alley, located in the basement of the Howe Center, five days a week (Monday through Friday). Practices normally occur from 7PM to 9PM, with tournaments being held during weekends.

How many tournaments do you play in?
A season would normally consist of 8 to 10 tournaments split between the fall and spring semesters with sectionals being added to the schedule.

Does it cost money to join?
Yes, it does. Players support a large part of the club through dues. These dues range from being $170-$200 per semester, and this changes depending on how many players are on the team. All club sports do receive a budget through the Student Government Association to help with operating costs for the team, but individual players contribute to funding through membership dues.

What do my dues include?
Membership dues cover tournament fees, transportation to and from tournaments, and hotels (if a tournament requires an overnight stay). Plastic bowling balls, rental shoes, and jerseys (during tournaments) are provided and are free to use, but it is recommended that players provide their own personal equipment such as bowling bags, balls, shoes, etc. Additionally, black pants such as slacks, khakis, or jeans are required for tournaments.
