Stevens Kicks Off the Spring Semester with EIBT #3

01.29.25

This past Saturday, 1/25/25, the Stevens Bowling Team competed in EIBT #3, "Wacky's Baker Challenge." at Rab's Country Lanes in Staten Island, NY. As the name suggests, this tournament consisted of only baker games. In a baker game, five players cooperate by taking turns filling frames to complete a game. In this format, teamwork is very important to be successful. The oil pattern used in this tournament was the 2022 USBC Masters pattern, which is a pattern that was also used in a tournament sharing the same name where the best of the best pro bowlers competed. This meant that scoring good games would be very difficult, but we were ready for the challenge. In this tournament, we brought 3 teams, Men's Varsity, Men's JV 1, and Men's JV 2.
The Varsity team did very well with an amazing high game of 254 while averaging 177 across the 25 games. Their performance landed them 6th overall in the Men's Varsity division. Both Men's JV teams also performed well with JV 1 scoring a high game of 209 while averaging 149, and JV 2 having a high game of 193 and an average of 150. Our JV 1 team placed 6th and our JV 2 team placed 5th in the Men's JV division.
All in all, we had a lot of fun participating in this "Wacky" tournament and are ready to tackle the other competitions this semester head-on.
