Bowling Team Finishes Off the Semester at the Suffolk Tournament

02.11.24

This past Saturday, the Stevens Bowling Team competed at the Suffolk Tournament on 2/10/24 at AMF Babylon lanes, New York. This was our last tournament for the Spring 2024 semester. This tournament consisted of 3 doubles games, 3 individual games, and 5 baker games, a configuration that most tournaments we competed in. The oil pattern was WB Los Angeles (38'), which was only given to us during the day of the tournament, meaning that the team would have to be able to strategize and adapt quickly because we were unable to practice with it beforehand. For this tournament, we brought our Men's Varsity and Men's Junior Varsity. This was also the last tournament for three of our beloved bowlers Breanna Tolocka, Jared Skidmore, and Joshua Prasad, who will be missed dearly.
Men's JV played very well in this tournament with Louis Lazarinni and Jordan Ela having a doubles series of 877, Jordan Ela scoring an individual's high game of 163, and Robert Kirschner converting a notable 6-7-10 split. The Men's JV bowled an average of 143 in the doubles and individual games, and had a high baker game of 171. With their hard work, the JV team was able to place 1st overall.
Men's Varsity also was on fire during this tournament with Jared Skidmore and Scott Serafin having a doubles series of 1136, making them win the award for highest overall doubles series. CJ Folgore bowled a high game of 211 during the doubles portion of the games and Jared Skidmore bowled a high game of 199 in the individual games. The Men's Varsity bowled an average of 157 and had a high baker game of 181. The Men's Varsity team fought hard and well, and with their efforts, placed 2nd overall, winning a trophy in the process.
Overall, as a team, we played very well in this last tournament. We had a superb semester and we will greatly miss those who are leaving, but we are very excited to see what's in store for the upcoming semesters.
