Stevens Returns to NY Maritime Fall Open, September 27-28
Day 1 was a battle for breeze, in both FJs and 420s. We attempted our first race at 10:30am after a short postponement then abandoned as breeze died out. Postponed ashore until 1:00pm when we got three A races and two B races completed. When the NNE fill was there it averaged about 4-6knots. Breeze died out again as it battled the southerly sea breeze at 3:45pm and we called the day at 4:00pm. Current largely tracked W>E but swapped around for the final A race.

The next day a new team of ducks arrived to an early morning light southerly which switched to a decent SW breeze averaging 5-7knts until it died fighting the afternoon sea breeze. Big kudos to all the teams working through the current as Race Committee executed quick course adjustments and ran competitive races in the conditions that were present. Well done to Coast Guard for winning the NY Maritime Fall Open
