The Stevens Ducks faced a difficult road challenge on Sunday afternoon as they traveled to take on
Columbia. Despite moments of strong effort and resilience, the Ducks ultimately fell 7–0 against a
Columbia side that capitalized on its attacking opportunities throughout the match.
From the opening whistle, Columbia applied high pressure and controlled possession in the attacking half.
The home team opened the scoring in the 12th minute after a quick passing sequence broke through the
Stevens defense, leading to a close-range finish. Columbia added another goal shortly after, converting a
shot from the edge of the box to extend the lead.
Stevens continued to battle and looked to create chances on the counterattack. The Ducks generated a few
promising moments moving forward, including a dangerous run down the wing that resulted in a cross
into the penalty area, but Columbia's defense managed to clear the danger before a shot could be taken.
As the first half progressed, Columbia continued to push forward and found the back of the net two more
times before halftime, taking a 4–0 lead into the break.
In the second half, Stevens showed determination despite the scoreline, working to stay organized
defensively and limit additional chances. The Ducks' goalkeeper made several strong saves to deny
Columbia on multiple occasions. However, the home side's persistent attacking play produced three more
goals in the second half, bringing the final score to 7–0.
While the result was a tough one for Stevens, the Ducks continued to compete until the final whistle and
will look to regroup and build from the experience as they prepare for their upcoming matches.
