Stevens Crew Opens Season with One-Two Finish at Head of the Passaic

10.04.26

Stevens Crew began its season with a strong performance at the Head of the Passaic Regatta in Lyndhurst, NJ, on Sunday, October 4. Competing in the Men's Collegiate 4+ race over a 4.7-kilometer course, the Ducks entered two boats and earned first- and second-place finishes. The one-two result marked a successful season opener for Stevens, with both crews securing a place at the top of the standings.

Boat A was coxed by Quinn Gainey and featured Cooper Sheridan at stroke, Jonathan Biczac in the three seat, Jacob Steg in the two seat, and James Kogan at bow. The crew completed the course in 22:54.83 to take first place. Boat B, coxed by Aidan Berard, included Chris D'Addesa at stroke, Evan Espinoza in the three seat, Jack Gonser in the two seat, and Samuel Pearce at bow. Finishing in 24:18.36, Boat B claimed second place to complete the Ducks' one-two finish in the event.

With both boats earning strong results in the opening regatta, Stevens will look to carry that momentum into its next competition. The Ducks return to the water on Saturday, October 10, for the Head of the Housatonic, where they will aim to build on their successful start to the season.
