Poughkeepsie, NY – 4 October 2025 – The Stevens Ducks returned to Poughkeepsie for the
second year in a row, again competing in the Collegiate Men's 4+ event. Unlike last year's race,
the 3 mile (4800m) course on the Hudson River provided exceptional rowing conditions. The
Ducks finished their first race of the season with a time of 26:33.2 on the historic Poughkeepsie
course. This success was made possible by an outstanding performance by coxswain Riley
Huelsmann in his first head race, keeping the rowers motivated and on track. Stroke Jon Biczak
rowed like clockwork, keeping an aggressive pace for the entire race. With the first race of the
season in the books, the team is looking forward to competing next week in the Head of the
Passaic Regatta.
