On Saturday, October 25th, Stevens Crew, led by Coach Jeff Cohan, competed at the
Head of the Schuylkill Regatta in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The 3,700-meter course was a
familiar stretch for the Ducks, as they had previously raced on the Schuylkill last season.
Two boats were entered into the event: the men's collegiate four—coxswained by Quinn
Gainey and powered by
Samuel Pearce at stroke,
Christopher D'Addesa in the three seat, Evan
Espinoza in two, and
Aidan Berard at bow—delivered a strong performance, finishing with a
time of 16:40.47. The men's novice four—coxswained by
Riley Huelsmann saw Jon Biczak at
stern, Austin Van Zant in three, James Kogan in two, and Jack Gonser at bow—posted a solid
time of 19:23.28.
Building on their consistent rhythm and teamwork, the crew gained valuable race
experience that capped off a productive fall season. With momentum from their efforts in
Philadelphia, the Ducks will now shift their focus toward winter training; refining technique,
strength, and endurance to position themselves for an even stronger showing when spring racing
