Stevens A played their first match against TCNJ. Kaiden Garces-Johannes had huge swings and smart tips in order to lead Stevens to a first set win, 25-21. In the second set, Stevens A used the momentum from Ethan Chen's serves and sets, in order to win a hard-fought set 25-17.
For the second match of the day, Stevens A faced off against Rowan B. Justin Monahan played incredible defense in order to lead the way to a Stevens A win, 25-17. In the second set, Enoch Chan had many timely swings, but it wasn't enough as Stevens lost the set, 22-25. In the third set, Calum Dudgeon's hard hits and timely blocks helped the team win 15-12.
Stevens B started the day playing against Rowan B. Bobby Nelson fought hard and scored many points through serves and back row swings. Thus allowing Stevens B to come back to win 25-23. However, the second set wasn't as smooth as Stevens B lost 17-25. In the 3rd set, Marc Chesnowitz had great swings, but it still wasn't enough to push Stevens to a win as they fell 11-15.
In their second match-up Stevens B played against TCNJ. Stevens B struggled against TCNJ's hits, losing the first set 17-25. In the second set Stevens B had a surge of points because of Ethan Itkis's many kills from the middle. Stevens B was able to win the set 27-25. In the 3rd set Ryan Martinez had buttery sets but Stevens B wasn't able to beat TCNJ's hitters and lost 9-15.
Stevens A is looking to continue its winning streak as Stevens B is trying to find some stable footing and pull out some wins.
