Stevens A played their first match against Rider A.
Colin Mcdermott and
Rhys Robichaud had huge swings and great passes in order to lead Stevens to a blow out first set win, 25-16. In the second set, Stevens A benefited from
Enoch Chan's line swings, in order to win, 25-8.
For the second match of the day, Stevens A faced off against Princeton in the Quarter Finals for the Mid Atlantic Division Championships.
Ethan Chen's ability to set up his teammates allowed Stevens A to cruise to a win, 25-15. In the second set, Louheng Fung played great defense and had a good all-around game which led Stevens A to a comfortable win, 25-18.
In the Semi Finals Stevens A faced off against Drexel A. In the first set,
Jonathan Lai played an incredible game with huge blocks and bounce kills. Stevens A got their revenge and won the set, 25-20. In the second set, Stevens A started off strong and were able to catch Drexel by surprise and win, 25-18.
Stevens A made it to the finals and for their last game of the day they faced off against TCNJ A. TCNJ proved to be a tough challenge and were able to take the first set from the Ducks, 29-27. But Stevens A was able to bounce back because of
Justin Monahan's defense and ability to shut down the other team's serves and hitters. They won that set 25-15. In the third set to 15, Stevens A was able to pull out a team effort and win 15-8 securing themselves the Mid Atlantic Division Championship.
