The Stevens Institute of Technology club baseball team fell 8–2 in the series opener against Stony Brook on Saturday, with the Ducks generating limited offense against a strong opposing pitching and defensive effort.

Nick Ranaudo provided the highlight for Stevens at the plate, launching a home run to account for one of the team's two runs on the day. The Ducks struggled to consistently string together hits, facing difficulty in generating sustained offensive pressure throughout the game.

On the mound, Dylan Zech and Bobby Gallo combined to handle pitching duties for Stevens, working through a challenging Stony Brook lineup over the course of the contest.

Despite the loss, the Ducks will look to regroup and adjust as they continue the series against Stony Brook with a doubleheader on Sunday.
