Rutgers Rallies Past Stevens in Back-and-Forth 4–2 Battle

The game started with Rutgers coming out strong, creating several early chances and controlling most of the possession. Stevens struck first when forward Sara Patino '29 pressured a Rutgers center back, won the ball, and dribbled downfield on a breakaway to score. Rutgers quickly responded with a counterattack to tie the game. About halfway through the first half, Stevens forward Leah Jones '29 was fouled inside the 18-yard box, earning a penalty kick. Isabella Irwin '27 converted the penalty to give Stevens a 2–1 lead. Just before halftime, Rutgers split the Stevens defense and scored to tie the game again. In the second half, Rutgers continued to control possession and eventually scored midway through the half to take the lead. Stevens pushed for an equalizer but couldn't finish their chances. Late in the game, Rutgers added another goal off a rebound from a corner kick to secure the win. The game ended with Rutgers defeating Stevens 4–2.
