Stevens Falls to Rowan, 2-1

Stevens battled Rowan in a closely contested match, but ultimately fell 2-1 after Rowan scored the deciding goal with approximately 10 minutes remaining.

The match opened with both teams playing evenly, with possession moving back and forth across the field. Stevens and Rowan each created several opportunities during the opening half, but neither side was able to generate many clear-cut scoring chances. Strong defensive play from both teams kept the game scoreless, and the two sides headed into halftime tied 0-0.

The second half continued in much the same fashion, with both teams competing for possession and looking for an opening in the opposing defense. Approximately 15 minutes into the half, Rowan broke through and took a 1-0 lead off a corner kick.

Stevens responded quickly and continued to push forward in search of an equalizer. Just five minutes later, Sophia Opryshko '30 earned a penalty kick for Stevens, creating a crucial scoring opportunity. Isabella Irwin '27 stepped up to take the penalty and calmly converted, finding the back of the net to bring the game level at 1-1.

With the match once again even, both teams continued to battle for the advantage. With approximately 10 minutes remaining, Rowan earned another corner kick and converted the opportunity to regain the lead, making the score 2-1.

Stevens continued to fight through the final minutes, pushing forward in search of another equalizer and creating pressure in the attacking end. Despite the late effort, the Ducks were unable to find a second goal before the final whistle.

Rowan ultimately held on for the 2-1 victory. Despite the result, Stevens competed throughout a tightly contested match and showed resilience by responding quickly after Rowan's first goal and battling until the final whistle.
