February 17th - Rail Jam:
Skiers 
The first day of the freestyle competition was a rail jam, where the athletes had 15
minutes to do the best trick possible in the park. Our freestyle skiers put up a strong performance
during the rail jam, though none placed in the top 10. Jack Meldrum, Connor Magee, and Zade
Nassoura tied for 11th place.
Snowboarders
The Stevens freestyle snowboarders performed exceptionally well on Saturday. Of the
men, Will Bany, Alex Alcaron, Conal Gillespie, and Mario Graniello placed 3rd, 4th, 6th, and
9th, respectively. For the women, Eva Baker came in 1st and Julia Reznik in 3rd. Since they
placed top 3 in their disciplines, Will Bany, Eva Baker, and Julia Reznik have qualified for
regionals!

Race Report:
Men
The Stevens men's skiers put up some great times in the giant slalom, even though the
course was pretty soft due to the new snow. Placing 13th with a combined time of 1:14.42 was
Brian Williams, followed by Ashton Merkert-Kuzman in 24th with a combined time of 1:27.48.
Pavel Ryutov came in 34th, Michael Folmer in 47th, and Jonathan Maxemoss in 50th.
Women
The women also put up a good performance, with Elizabeth Kirstein in 21st with a
combined time of 1:40.06. Alice Zaytseva placed 31st, followed by Viktoria Matysiak in 32nd.
Ava Crocetti unfortunately did not finish her first run due to some difficult conditions, but
secured a solid time of 1:10.75 on her second run.
Snowboarders
Finishing off the day was our snowboard racer, Declan Best, who finished 10th with a
combined time of 3:10.28.
