The Stevens Lifting Team had a successful weekend at the 2025 New Jersey State Weightlifting Championships, at the Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft New Jersey.

This was the first time in the school's history that we have sent a team to the State Weightlifting Championships.

The teams results are as follows;

Ashley Muliawan - Got the Gold Medal in the women's OPEN 86 kg Division.

Ray Flanagan - Got the Gold Medal in the Men's JUNIOR 110 kg Division.

Jake Suma - Got the Gold Medal in the Men's JUNIOR 71 kg Division.

Luke Hendricks - Got the Silver Medal in the Men's OPEN 110 kg Division

Jake Suma, and Luke Hendricks Qualified for the USA Weightlifting 2026 University National Championships. 

Jake Suma, was awarded the BEST OVERALL Junior Lifter Award for the meet.

(Coach Ryan - won the Gold Medal in the Men's Masters 45-50 Age Category, in the 71 kg Division.)

For the first State Championships, the team did a fantastic job. To have two athletes qualify for the University National Championships is a Huge achievement, and to have Jake Suma named as the best Junior Lifter in the state of New Jersey is an even greater achievement.
