In a game which saw the Ducks outshot 56-21, a controlled defensive performance as well as a strong showing in net by
Brendan Breschard allowed Stevens to damper the Fairfield offense. A fast first period for Fairfield saw them outshoot the Ducks 20-5 and take a 2-0 lead into the second period. The Ducks came alive in the second period with two goals from
Dylan Faulhaber. His first of the game came at 19:43, and was assisted by
David Canales and
Hayden Fitzpatrick. Just a minute later, Faulhaber struck again at 18:46, this time set up by
Thomas Bissaillon and
Kevin McNamara, tying the game 2-2. However, Fairfield reclaimed the lead at 10:24 in the second, a goal that would prove to be the game-winner. Both teams tightened up their defensive schemes in the third period, which led to a relatively low event period. A late push by the Ducks fell short and the game ended in a 3-2 win for Fairfield.
