Both teams got off to a good start in the 1st inning with Montclair scoring one and Stevens scoring two runs. Montclair would end up taking a 4-2 lead in the top of the 4th. A single and a walk from Zack Rimshnick and Nick Ranaudo, respectively, gave Jack Lane a chance to keep Stevens in the game. He did so by getting a double and bringing Zack in to score and cut the lead by one. Montclair got a needed insurance run in the top of the 7th as Stevens would only gain one run and fall to Montclair for their first game.
