Ultimate Frisbee Information

About:

The Club Ultimate Frisbee Team is a co-ed club sports team that competes in Division III level competitions, against teams from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and Connecticut. We have both a fall and spring season and compete in 3-5 tournaments per season. Tournaments are typically held in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or New York, though none are on campus.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is there a men’s and women’s team?
Stevens Ultimate is a co-ed frisbee team, meaning that everyone plays for the same team, regardless of gender. What division do you play in? We compete in the D-III Men’s Division of USA Ultimate. Though we play in the Men’s Division, players of any gender are welcome to join and can play in the division.

When does the season start?
We begin holding practices for our fall season in September, and will usually attend a tournament every other weekend starting at the end of the month or early October. Practices for the spring season begin in late January, with tournaments starting in February, and will run into April.

Does it cost money to play?
Yes, all club athletes must pay dues to participate in the sport. Ultimate Frisbee dues are usually around $200 per semester, although this largely depends on the number of rostered players, as more players mean lower dues. What do my dues cover? Your dues cover the cost of transportation to and from tournaments, tournament registration fees, payment of required staff for practices, and your USA Ultimate membership, which is required to participate in the season.

What equipment is provided and what do I need?
The only equipment required to play are frisbees and cleats. The team can provide frisbees, though players are encouraged to bring theirs to both practices and tournaments. Each player must acquire their own pair of cleats, which are mandatory during tournament play. Further, equipment such as jerseys and other merchandise is available for purchase at a separate fee per player, not included in your dues. Having a team jersey is not mandatory to play
