February 1st - Slalom:
Men
Two icy days of racing were in store for our Steven's athletes when they arrived at
Camelback Mountain. The rain came the night before, freezing over, leaving a course of sheer
ice. However, some athletes were able to persist. Roy Tas came in 19th overall with a combined
time of 1:48.14. Not far behind him was Conor Magee in 21st. Our last Stevens finisher was
Gabriel Malek in 33rd. However, due to the unusual conditions Ashton Merkert-Kuzman, Pavel
Ryutov, Micheal Folmer, Dean Fillipone, Brian Galasso, Brian Williams, and Miguel Aguirre
were unable to complete their runs.
Women
While Aliona Heitz was able to put up a time of 1:38.81 for her first run, she was
unfortunately unable to complete her second run.
