January 26th-
Rail Jam:
Skiers
With the second day came rail jam, featuring a steep course and many terrain park
features. Unfortunately, none of our skiers made finals, so
Lucas Hope, Nicolas Plaskon, Aidan
Giordano,
Logan Hickey, and
Tyler Housel all placed 50th. In the same position,
Isabella Vena
placed 20th for our women.
Snowboarders
Luckily not all of our snowboarders suffered the same fate.
William Bany made finals for
our men and was able to secure 8th place. For our women, both
Eva Baker and
Julia Reznik were
able to make finals, earning 4th and 7th place respectively.
Madelyn Pagkalinawan and
Christopher Bartell were unfortunately not able to make finals, meaning they placed 15th and
25th respectively.
Giant Slalom:
Men
The Stevens athletes faced another day of Giant Slalom on Sunday, once again
impressing. Leading the pack once again was
Connor Magee with a best time of 46.38, earning
him 20th. Brain Williams was once again close behind in 23rd.
Ashton Merkert-Kuzman, Dean
Fillipone,
Pavel Ryutov,
Alex Coroian, and
Noah Czuj followed putting up respectable times and
achieving placements of 37th, 42nd, 46th, 51st, and 52nd. Rounding out the pack was Brian
Galasso and
Gabriel Malek placing 56th and 58th for Stevens.
Women
Viktoria Matysiak put up a combined time of 2:00.38 , earning her 35th place. Aliona
Heitz followed in 43rd, and unfortunately
Alice Zaytseva went home early due to illness.
Snowboarders
Rounding out the group were our two snowboard racers. Jenn Alexander put up a fast
time of 2:29.24 earning her second place!
Christopher Bartell placed 3rd with a combined time
of 2:28.39. Overall another amazing week for our racers.
