The Ducks are back in action this year taking on a new slate of contenders in the American Athletic Union. After just two weeks back on the ice Stevens faces off against Ramapo college in the first of two matchups this season. Ramapo got things started early capitalizing on a quick turnover in the first minute of play to take the lead. Their early momentum kept the Ducks on the defensive after netting a powerplay goal just minutes. Facing a two-goal deficit, Stevens' special teams picked up their first point of the season when freshman
Kevin McNamara buried his first career goal in a net front battle.
Paul Golembiewski would add his first of the season for the Ducks in the closing seconds of the period to bring the game to a deadlock heading into the first intermission. Unfortunately, this would be all Stevens offense could muster facing a plethora of special teams in the remaining two periods. Ramapo picked up two more powerplay tallies and one even strength to take the game to 5-2 in the dying minutes of the third. Brenden Breschard finished the game with 38 saves in his first of many starts this year. The Ducks look to bounce back next weekend with two games on the schedule facing Rowan University on the 21st followed by NJIT on the 22nd .
