The Stevens Archery in 2017 Atlantic Cape Fall Opener

10.17.17

The Stevens Archery Team competed in their first competition of the fall semester this past weekend. This year many new members joined the team, more than doubling last year's count. Since we grew so large this year, we took a minibus for the first time to a competition! The two and a half hour drive to Atlantic Cape Community College gave the team time to bond and get to know each other better. The competition was split into two halves, with each half consisting of ten rounds of three arrows. A total of sixty arrows were shot for the maximum score of 600 points. Some of us shot Compound - Bowhunter and others shot Recurve. There was even a novice division offered for strictly beginning archers. Everyone was scored by Outer Ten, meaning that the inner and outer bull's eye, about the size of a quarter, counted for 10 points. We're proud of all our members, especially the ones that competed for the first time! Special thanks to our coach Jerry for being there to support and help us!
