Scott Bintner joined Stevens in August of 2024 as the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation for Aquatics, and as an Assistant Coach for Men’s and Women’s Swimming, where he has led in coaching the distance swimmers, and running the pool as the Aquatics Director.
Having worked as a swim instructor and summer league and USA swimming coach since the summer of ’97 in both his hometown of Kansas City, college town of Springfield, MO and later in NYC, he continued to teach while coaching Hunter, and was the Head of Teacher Training at Imagine Swimming in NYC until the spring of ’17 when he moved to NJ.
Before joining Stevens, he spent 7 years managing private swim schools across the NJ area, and has years of experience as a Certified Pool Operator and Lifeguard and CPR Instructor, in addition to teaching swimming and coaching. One of his goals for Stevens Recreation to bring back the Swim Lessons program that was once offered.
As an athlete, Bintner competed for the Missouri State Bears as a mid-distance freestyler from ’96-’00, where he was All-Conference in the 1997-1998 season, and team captain his senior year when the Bears won the Missouri Valley Conference Championship.
