Stevens Fitness Center Dress Code

All members that use the fitness center must wear appropriate attire while in the facility. This is in effort to prevent MRSA, ringworm, etc. from being passed from skin to pad/mat contact. Research and surveys indicate that people are reluctant to begin an exercise program if they are intimidated within the environment. This helps to eliminate safety and health issues, reduce the spread of communicable diseases and to protect the facility and equipment. Those who are not wearing appropriate attire will be asked to leave the facility.
The appropriate attire requirements are as follows (street clothes are not acceptable):
  • ·  Footwear
    • Shoes are required in all areas of the gym at all times.
    • Closed toe and closed-heel, non-marking, rubber-soled athletic shoes are required in activity areas.
    • High-heels, cleats, spikes, boots, and sandals are not permitted.
  • ·  Shirts
    • Upper body garment must be worn.
    • Cropped tanks, halter-tops, muscle tanks, and sports bras are permitted.
  • ·  Bottoms
    • Athletic-type apparel is required.
    • Non-athletic type pants such as jeans, jean shorts, khakis, etc. are not permitted in the fitness center area.
