Rutgers started off quick by jumping out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Stevens would be held scoreless until the bottom of the 3rd where Ian Brodbeck got on by a walk, he would steal second and third base and score off a double from Nick Plaskon. Rutgers would score one more in the 5th inning to take the lead. In the bottom of the 6th Anthony Prestia and Anthony Kernan would walk to get on base, and Bryan Ayala would single to bring in both runs and take the lead 3-2. Stevens would not have to bat in the 7th and win the game 3-2.
