Stevens Bowling Competes in Final Tournament of the Semester

12.06.22

This past weekend, the Stevens Bowling Team attended the Northeast Classic Tournament at Lodi Lanes in Lodi, NJ. Unlike all previous tournaments this semester, this competition lasted two days. We also had the advantage of being extra familiar with these lanes, as we have competed here many times, and even hosted practices here while the Stevens alley was closed for maintenance. The format of this tournament was 6 straight games and 16 baker's games, followed by a bracket of the top 4 teams.

The team brought a roster for both Men's Varsity and Women's Varsity. The women's varsity team placed 5th out of 6 at the end of the first day, only a few pins behind the number 4 slot taken by St. Thomas Aquinas College. The women's team was spearheaded by captain Breanna Tolocka, who scored a stellar 195. The men's varsity team placed 6th out of 11 teams after the first day and maintained this position despite facing many challenges. Steven Santiago placed 23rd out of 117 men for the individual games, followed by our new secretary Scott Serafin in 47th. Steven was able to score a 222 individual game, which is very impressive. During the baker's games, the men secured a 206 game, enabled by freshman CJ Folgore. In summary, both teams performed very well, and had a great time. This was our last tournament of the semester, the morale was very high and the team is excited to continue competing next semester.
